Focus on Your Vision and Make it Your Strategy

– by Wenn Lynn

Vision ≠ Strategy

The next step to having a passion is to create a vision from it. Without a vision, your passion will remain just as an obsession. And no matter how healthy your obsession is, you’re still delusional.

Vision (n.) – the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom

Strategy (n.) – a plan of action designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim

-Oxford Dictionary

Vision and strategy are 2 different things. A strategy is a rigid, structured plan that fulfills an objective. On the other hand, a vision is flexible to changes and unpredictable circumstances.

You can’t think your way to a vision, because it comes from the heart.

It’s not a plan of action, because it inspires action; action that, as mentioned before, can sometimes be unreasonable and downright awful, but nevertheless necessary.

Vision ≠ Hope

When I said vision comes from the heart, I wasn’t referring to a naive expectation that things will get better without effort – that’s called hope, which relies purely on luck.

Hope (n.) – a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen.

-Oxford Dictionary

Success has nothing to do with luck, and everything to do with getting back up when (not if) you fall. I have a feeling tomorrow will be better is different from I will make tomorrow better. One’s passive, the other’s proactive.
