Attention, personal trainer. In 2009, a gentleman by the name of Charles Poliquin said to me, “The more you learn, the more you earn.” So the question that I have for you is, what are you doing today to learn more and be a better trainer? Look, you can go and do all the marketing courses, the business and sales stuff, but at the end of the day, you can’t polish a turd because a turd will forever be a turd.
Now, what you need to do is be polishing and refining your skills. Training, nutrition, supplementation. The basic stuff that yield exponential results, and that’s exactly why at Enterprise Fitness, we’ve developed our course called The Foundation Four. These are the four pillars to personal trainer success, to maximize your results and get the results for your clients that are going to them continuing to pay for you, and pay the bills that you need, and also, be able to push you to the pinnacle of personal training.
On day one, we’re going to teach you how to screen a client. Thanks, Liz. The reason why I’m going to teach you how to screen a client because if you don’t know how to accurately screen a client and the systems to use, then you have no business writing them a program.
Look, the reason why I say you have no business programming for a client if you can’t screen them is because programming is fundamentally a process of taking your client from where they are now to where they want to be, and unless you can get objective measures of where the client is, then you really don’t know how to program. Let me give you an example.
People talk about [butt-weaking 00:01:27] on a squat or they talk about people not able to depress their lats in and get in tight on a squat or a deadlift, or really any exercise, or depress their scapular in when they’re bench-pressing. All that stuff should be picked up in a screening process. The thing is for most program and courses on the market, they teach it very complicated, and it doesn’t need to be complicated. The facts are that you need to understand where the client is and what exercises progress them, and what sets, systems, load variations you’re going to use along the way to get them the intended outcome.
It’s one thing to learn the theory of programming, but what really makes The Foundation Four special is that we’re going to take you through four intense workouts, teaching you and getting you to experience the systems and training programs that we’re going to be delivering from the theoretical aspect because experiencing it makes all the difference in terms of its application.
When the rubber hits the road, your clients are paying for results, so the fact remains that you can’t exercise out a bad diet, so we would remiss if we didn’t include some nutritional practice, strategies, and principles to help you, the trainer, help deliver those results for your clients, and that is what we’re going to be teaching you on day two because the fact remains it’s not necessarily always known the best diet to follow. It’s also a matter of knowing how to communicate that, so we’re going to be teaching you tools, and skills, and communication techniques to really get through to your client so you can help them get the results that they’ve always wanted.
So, if you’re a trainer who really wants to master the craft of personal training, consider that I was once like you, frustrated, working out of a big-box gym, and really not knowing what I was doing, trying different business strategies to no avail, but it wasn’t until I really examined the way I actually trained and delivered my service to the clients that my income started to change for the better.
No, it wasn’t until I put my ego aside and learned the lessons around training, nutrition, supplementation. That’s when my income started to skyrocket and my business changed forever. I mean, now, look at me. I own a seven-figure studio and one of Australia’s leading personal training studio. So folks, if you want a piece of that pie, if you want to improve your results as a trainer, if you want to get on the fast-track to success, I hope to see you in our class very, very soon.
